The GPV-R is constructed according to Arai's renowned Egg Shaped Form (ESF). The outer shell, designed to be as round and smooth as possible, is not an aesthetic choice, but an essential safety principle. In the event of an impact, this shape promotes a glancing-off effect, whereby the helmet slides over the surface instead of stopping abruptly. This reduces rotational forces and significantly limits the load on the head and neck.

GP-VAS sighting system

The advanced GP-VAS (Variable Axis System) has been developed to position the hinge point of the visor lower, while allowing the visor to be fully opened without touching the helmet shell. In the closed position, the highest point of the visor is lower than on previous models, which ensures:
