The Bengio AB7 Rib Protector is designed for karters who refuse to compromise on safety, comfort, and performance. This high-quality rib protector is entirely handcrafted in Italy and is the first Bengio rib protector to meet the strict FIA 8870-2018 homologation standards.

Building on the success of the world-renowned Bengio BUMPER series, the AB7 offers an even higher level of protection thanks to the integration of rib, chest, and back protection into a single ergonomically designed system.

Maximum protection for the upper body

The Bengio AB7 protects the most vulnerable areas of the body while karting:

• Protection of the ribs against lateral impact
• Integrated sternum protection
• Additional back protection at the level of the spine
• Optimal shock absorption and force distribution

The protector was extensively tested in accordance with the FIA 8870-2018 standard:

• Back protector tested for an impact energy of 100 joules
• Breast protector tested for an impact energy of 60 joules
• Rib protector tested for an impact energy of 100 joules

The results remain well within the FIA's required maximum peak force of 1 kN, ensuring an exceptionally high level of safety.

About Bengio

Bengio was founded after kart driver Alessandro Begnozzi suffered a serious chest injury during a race. His father, Stefano Begnozzi, subsequently developed an innovative rib protector that combined higher safety standards with an ergonomic design. Together with five-time world champion Danilo Rossi and the DR Racing Team, the concept was further refined into what is now considered one of the best rib protectors in karting worldwide.
