Why a quality kart shoe is so important?

A high-quality karting shoe is much more important than is often thought. In karting , all input from the driver karting through the feet—the accelerator, brake, and balance are directly influenced by the shoe.

The sole plays a crucial role in this and largely determines comfort and control:

A sole that is too soft quickly causes pain in the ball of the foot, especially during prolonged braking or constant acceleration.

Due to the typical driving position in a kart drivers often kart on the outside of their feet. With soft or poorly supported shoes, the foot can then "hang" over the edge of the sole, leading to pain, fatigue, and instability.
