PLEASE NOTE: check carefully what approvals the organizers of your racing championships require for your racing helmet. This Zamp RZ 59 only has SA2020 certification and does NOT have FIA homologation. However, this is often required during a championship. The best thing you can do is contact the specific championship you will be racing before purchasing this helmet. If during the technical inspection you present the Zamp RZ 59 which only has SA2020 certification at a championship where an FIA homologated helmet is mandatory, you will not be allowed to participate.Â

HOMOLOGATION DECLARED
WHICH HOMOLOGATION DO I NEED?
The last thing you want to do is go to your next Motorsport event only to find that your equipment is out of date. We know that understanding which homologation you need (FIA / SNELL / CMR) can sometimes feel like a minefield. The first thing we would recommend is to contact the organisers of your racing championships and ask them exactly which homologation you need. Or if that fails, feel free to contact us and we will do our best to help you.
IS YOUR HELMET IN DATE?
If you already have a helmet, but need to check if your homologation is still valid and valid to race with, we have a guide below for all current homologations and when they are valid until:
FIA
- FIA standards are recognised in British and European motor sport events and represent a higher level of safety than the SNELL homologation.
- FIA 8860-2004 | Expires 31/12/2020
- FIA 8858-2010 | Expiry date 31/12/2023
- FIA 8860-2010 | Currently valid (no expiry date set in the next 5 years)
- FIA 8859-2015 | Currently valid (no expiry date set in the next 5 years)
SNELL
When the SA2020 standard helmets are allowed to be sold under the SNELL Foundation's guidelines (October 1, 2020), most sanctioning bodies will phase out the use of SA2010 helmets. For those interested in getting one of the new SA2020-certified helmets, manufacturers' availability will most likely begin on October 1, 2020 and be phased in during 2021. We strongly recommend that you get your new SA2020 helmet on order as soon as possible to avoid possible delays. New SA2020 helmet models should be introduced sometime in 2020, so keep an eye on us for new model updates.
- SA2005 | Expires 31/12/2018
- SA2010 | Expiry date 31/12/2023
- SAH2010 | Expiry date 31/12/2023
- SA2015 | Expiry date 31/12/2023
- SA2020 | Currently valid (no expiry date set in the next 5 years)
CMR
Snell CMR2016 | Currently valid (no expiry date set in the next 5 years)
CMR2016 is a standard intended exclusively for junior cart races (under 16 years of age). This standard focuses on specific factors such as weight to ensure a minimum rotational mass in the event of an accident.
Snell CMR2016 is the latest homologation for junior helmets.

When shopping online, it is very helpful to know exactly what size you need. To help you on your way, below you will find an overview of the helmet brands we sell, so you can easily estimate which helmet size you should choose in function of which helmet type.
To determine proper sizing, measure your head circumference just above the ears along the temples. Dut is the widest circumference point of your skull.Â
Arai CK-6 and Zamp Kids helmets must be compulsorily worn by karters up to 15 years old at National competitions. However, the following piece is important to know: [expander_maker id="1″ more="Read more" less="View less"]
'Helmets intended for heads with a circumference of 60 cm or more are considered adult head protection and will not be accepted for certification to this standard. Children requiring head protection in these sizes are encouraged to wear suitable helmets certified to adult standards.' Found on page 4 - 'constructions - A. General' via the following link https://www.fiakarting.com/sites/default/files/2019-09/CM2016.pdf

It is important to know that we sell EUROPEAN sizes, on the internet you often see Arai helmets for sale at a lower rate, these are usually Arai helmets with JAPANESE sizes. The biggest difference is in the inside of the helmet a European has an oval head in the length and a Japanese has an oval head in the width. So when buying a helmet make sure that you follow the correct European dimensions.
If you have doubts about a certain 'authenticity' of an Arai helmet, please contact us as an importer within the BELUX for the Arai motorsport and karting products and we will be happy to help you.
Regarding motorsport helmets, persons who wear glasses should note that the GP5 WP's visor opening offers a wider and higher field of vision i.e. is easier to put on glasses.
